Seventeen IGERT faculty members from eight departments at Cornell, Binghamton and the Wadsworth Center–University at Albany bring their expertise together in a collaboration that offers a unique opportunity to advance student training and research in the application of Flexible Electronics to the Life Sciences.

IGERT fellows will be mentored in three areas critical to fundamental advances: bioelectronic and bio-optic sensors, flexible neural electronics and the material-biology interface. FlexEBio Fellows will also pursue a coordinated course of study covering topics related to nanobiotechnology, flexible electronics, ethics, and biophysical laboratory methods. These research experiences and courses will be the foundation for student- initiated Team Focus Projects aimed at designing and prototyping biologically relevant devices based on flexible electronics.
